Continental, circa 1870, with octagonal to round 3 3/8in. barrel, the muzzle inlet with silver bands and drum mount for the folding flambeau bayonet stored to the left hand side, the barrel throat and top of barrel inlet with silver arabesques, dove-tailed fore-sight, open iron frame of Lefaucheux pattern inlet with silver scrolls and arabesques, the patterns and borders repeated on the plain blued cylinder with external ratchet locking, spurred hammer, folding trigger and smooth ivory bag-shaped grips
